Cosmin Adrian Vrajitoru

President

Cosmin Adrian Vrajitoru, AIA, is an award-winning architect and President/Founder of Archeo Design Studio, Inc. Cosmin studied architecture in Romania and Italy and completed his Masters of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology.

With a multicultural background and informed by strong and diverse architectural traditions his design ethos is strongly rooted in the modern vernacular and in the belief that the profession core identity was born as and must remain that of a “master builder”.

During a career spanning over two decades Cosmin has designed projects throughout the United States and internationally for public and private clients in typologies raging from multifamily residential, governmental, education, sports, healthcare, pharma, aviation and industrial.

As a discipline leader at JGMA his designs have received press recognition and have garnered multiple professional awards including awards from the local and state chapters of AIA as well as the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Design Excellence Award for several consecutive years.

Juanjo Canós

Executive Vice President

Juanjo Canos is the Executive Manager at ARCHEO (RKO) Design Studio Spain, where he has been leading since 2019. With over a decade of experience in designing and manufacturing high-tech facades, Juanjo has focused on serving the U.S. architectural market. As a manager with a strategic mindset, he effectively oversees a diverse team of architects and designers across five countries, providing expert design assistance and engineering services. Juanjo is driven by a passion for excellence, proactively anticipating challenges, and continuously seeking the best solutions. His leadership style is defined by a commitment to innovation, precision, and collaborative success, making him a pivotal force in pushing the boundaries of architectural design and technology. Outside of his professional life, Juanjo enjoys exploring innovative trends and engaging in creative problem-solving, reflecting his dedication to excellence in every pursuit.

David Ruffing

Architectural Manager

As the Architectural Manager at Archeo Design Studio, David Ruffing brings over 15 years of experience specializing in the design and execution of mixed-use projects. With roots in a rural upbringing, he values hands-on work and transforming ideas into reality through thoughtful and efficient construction techniques—an approach that informs his architectural process and leads to feasible, cost-effective solutions. David has a strong background in architecture with particular expertise in building envelope design. He has led numerous high-profile developments, successfully integrating functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. Known for his attention to detail and innovative problem-solving, David delivers solutions that respond to the complex demands of contemporary mixed-use buildings while maintaining architectural integrity and environmental responsibility. Based in the Chicago office, David manages a global team. He holds a BS.Arch from The Ohio State University and an M.Arch from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is licensed in Illinois and Indiana.

Andy Maradni

Building Technology Manager

Andy Maradni is a licensed architect and Building Technology Manager at Archeo Design Studio, where he bridges architectural design, research, and advanced building technologies. With a specialization in Digital Design, Andy combines architectural thinking with expertise in programming, simulation, and fabrication to support innovative and technically rigorous project delivery. His professional experience includes leading building technology strategies across projects, as well as academic research at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Andy has contributed to award-winning research focused on façade performance and sustainability, including the development of vertical rainwater harvesting systems for tall buildings, published in the CTBUH Journal. Andy holds a degree in Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a licensed architect in the state of Illinois. Based in Chicago, he works with global teams to integrate research-driven methodologies, computational design, and performance-based solutions into contemporary architectural practice.

Elena Monzonís

Engineering Manager

Elena Monzonis is the Engineering Manager at Archeo Design Studio (RKO) in Spain, a role she has held since 2023 after joining the company in 2019. With nearly a decade of experience in high-tech facade engineering and manufacturing, Elena is dedicated to advancing the U.S. façades market through innovative and precise solutions. She leads a multinational team of engineers and designers, delivering specialized design support and engineering services. Known for her forward-thinking approach and dedication to excellence, Elena proactively anticipates challenges, guiding her team toward optimal solutions. Her leadership is shaped by a passion for teamwork, making her a driving force in all engineering processes. Outside of work, Elena enjoys spending time with her dog and engages in activities like hiking, running, and cycling, which help her maintain a balanced perspective and enhance her creativity.

Nestor Cordero

Senior Lead 3D Designer

Néstor Cordero is the Head of the 3D and Audiovisual Department at Archeo Design Studio (RKO) in Spain, where he leads a multidisciplinary team specializing in hyper-realistic renderings, animation, and visual communication. An architect and building engineer, he has played a key role in integrating advanced technologies and innovative workflows within the studio. He is currently co-leading, alongside Juanjo, the company’s transition toward a Revit-based ecosystem connected with Rhino and Grasshopper, enhancing efficiency, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and RKO’s technological edge. Within the Spanish office, Néstor is a reference in the use of artificial intelligence, guiding its responsible and strategic implementation in production workflows. Recognized for his experimental mindset and forward-thinking approach, he is passionate about advancing R&D initiatives that keep RKO at the forefront of audiovisual and digital design innovation.
